Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

•      Grade 12, N2, N3 Engineering Studies

•      Trade Certificate

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

•      4+ years underground mining Rigging experience. 

•      Safety rules and standards

•      Hand signals and other communication during operations

•      Radio communications and use

•      Slinging methods and standards

•      Rigging equipment and care

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

•      Determine the weight of the load and decide on the best method to utilise

•      Determine the timeframes for the tasks and ensure work is completed on the allocated timeframe

•      Engage with the requestor to understand the specific requirements, positions and how to lift or offload

•      Develop the DSTI and Rigging studies (>20T)

•      Troubleshoot any issues that occur on the construction site and report them to the Rigging Foreman

•      Obtain sign-off from the Rigging Foreman before executing loads

•      Ensure and confirm cranes and other equipment have been inspected by crane operators

•      Check surface where cranes are used to ensure it is safe for lifting and that the crane is correctly setup

•      Discard any unsafe or unmarked gear and equipment

•      Inspect all rigging equipment, and gear for damage

•      Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned before storage

•      Ensure the correct storage of rigging equipment and gear

•      Provide inputs to the Construction budget for equipment and gear requirements

•      Ensure the work area is barricaded

•      Ensure the safe use of all equipment
