IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to  develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.

DRILL RIG (LONG HOLE) OPERATOR x1 REF: (08 UMM-2025/06)

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

·       Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.

·       Valid Long Hole Drilling Operator Certificate or competency, blasting certificate will be advantageous.

·       Sound understanding of open stope mining methods and ground conditions.

·       Physically fit and medically fit for underground mining.

·       Strong safety awareness and adherence to Mine Health & Safety Act.

·       Knowledge of setting up long hole drill rig using total station and manual setting up of the rig.

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

·       Minimum of 4 years’ underground experience operating long hole drilling rigs (e.g., Sandvik DL421, DL311, or SIMBA E70 or similar).

     The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

·       Operate long hole drilling rigs to drill production holes as per design and layout.

·       Read and interpret drilling layouts, drill patterns, and mine plans.

·       Perform pre-operational checks and ensure the drill rig is maintained in a safe, operable condition.

·       Ensure accurate drilling according to specified angles, depths, and positions.

·       Work closely with the shift supervisor, charge-up crew, and survey team to ensure alignment with production targets.

·       Record drilling data and report any geological or equipment issues.
