IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanized state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.

SHIFT BOSS X 2 REF: (06 UMM-2025/06)

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

·       Grade 12 or equivalent

·       Underground blasting certificate (Rock Breaking Certificate not considered)

·       Experience in long hole, development, undercutting and construction.

·       Legal Knowledge (MHSA)

·       Driver’s license

·       Mine Overseer Certificate will be an added advantage.

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

·       A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an open stoping, block caving, sub-level caving and horizontal development in underground mining environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

·       Ensue all work performed is in accordance with the Mine’s code of practice and report all non-compliance.

·       Provide leadership.

·       Involvement in mine planning and scheduling.

·       Ensure all materials and consumables are available for planned work.

·       Review daily activities for compliance to plan.

·       Comply with all planned equipment maintenance schedules.

·       Accurately complete all required paperwork and fulfil reporting requirements

·       Ensure all personnel in mining teams are conducting their jobs efficiently and effectively to gain optimum performance.

·       Manage crew rosters, levels, training needs and authorise planned leave.
