EXTERNAL VACANCY
IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.
ARTISAN ASSISTANT RIGGING - (REF:MRCIVP- 69/25)
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent
- Basic rigging course
- Qualification in Engineering studies [advantageous]
- Good English written and verbal communication skills
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in a mining environment
- Experience with basic rigging
- Experience working with basic hand tools, power tools and in cutting and grinding
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Provide effective assistance in all rigging and slinging related activities in line with procedures and standards
- Assist with maintenance of rigging equipment
- Maintain good housekeeping standards
- Safe loading and offloading / moving and hoisting of heavy equipment and machinery
- Assist with daily/ weekly / monthly rigging inspections
- Operation of overhead cranes and lifting equipment (only work with loads below 3 ton)
- Effective self-management in alignment with M&RC's values
