IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.
OCCUPATION HEALTH NURSE COORDINATOR X 1 : IVP-SAF-2503)
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
· Degree/Diploma in General Nursing.
· Diploma in occupational health.
· Diploma in Primary Health Care
· Experience/ qualifications in management position
· Currently registered as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council.
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
· At least >5 years’ experience in occupational health setting.
· Knowledge of Primary Care 101 Clinical Assessment and Management.
· Strong computer Literate skills.
· Have good interpersonal skills and client relations.
· Excellent communication Skills.
· The ability to work autonomously and stay current on developments
· Trained and currently registered to perform audiometry, spirometry and vision screening.
· Leadership/Management qualifications
· Dispensing Certificate.
· TB/HIV Management Certificates
· Training in emergency courses, BLS Certificate.
· Willingness to work as a multiskilled member of the OHC team (such as being trained for and assisting in the HTS climatic chamber)
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
· To apply his or her knowledge and abilities to the health services and guarantee that professional nursing care is provided in accordance with the applicable laws while operating within the bounds of the registration of individuals under the Nursing Act of 2005, as amended.
· Comply with other relevant legislation and best practise principles and to ensure the quality and quantity of work as a priority.
· Overall supervision and day to day running of the Occupational Health Centre and Site Clinic
· Conduct medical examinations and fitness evaluations in compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act and Regulations including but not limited to Medical Surveillance and Minimum Standards of Fitness for mine Work protocols.
· Formulation of relevant procedures.
· Stakeholder management and attendance at operational meetings.
· Reporting and assisting on all injuries and occupational diseases.
· Chronic disease management.
· Infection Prevention and Control and Waste management.
· People Management, In-service training and development.
· General Nursing Administration and Cost Control.
· Cohesiveness within the team and create a culture of achievement.
· Align self and sub-ordinates to the health care strategy, company values and code of conduct.
· Participate in the Internal and external audits.
· Rendering emergency medical care services when required.
· Engaging in health promotion programs and initiatives.
· Regular Workplace visits, health risk management.
· Generation of Monthly Quarterly and Annual Reports.
· Records management and legal compliance
