EXTERNAL VACANCY
IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.
ARTISAN ASSISTANT ELECTRICAL - (REF: MRCIVP-70/25)
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent
- Qualifications in Engineering studies [advantageous]
- Basic rigging course
- Good English written and verbal communication skills
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in a mining environment
- Experience with use of hand tools
- Experience with basic maintenance\installation of electrical equipment
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Assist with maintenance of electrical equipment
- Maintain good housekeeping standards
- Operation of hand-held tools related to basic electrical work
- Maintain tools used in electrical related activities
- Clean work area and equipment
- Connect wiring to equipment as per standard under direction of electrician
- Excavation and reinstatement work
- Secure cables and electrical equipment as per approved standards
- Assist with daily / weekly / monthly electrical inspections
- Report defects to electrician\supervisor
- Wear correct PPE at all times
- Effective self-management in alignment with M&RC's values
