IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to  develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.

                                   ARTISAN ASSISTANT FITTER - (REF: MRCIVP-68/25)

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent
• Basic rigging course
• Qualification in Engineering studies [advantageous]
• Good English written and verbal communication skills

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

• At least 1 year of experience in a mining environment
• Experience working with basic hand tools, power tools and in cutting and grinding

 The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

• Provide effective assistance in all maintenance and repair work of a mechanical nature in line with procedures and quality standards
• Safe operation of overhead cranes within the cranes certified capacity
• Safe lifting of other equipment to a maximum load of 3 tons
• Follow lock out procedures
• Safe operation of hand held tools related to basic mechanical work
• Maintain and clean equipment and tools use and report defects to Supervisor timeously
• Maintain good housekeeping standards
• Assist with daily / weekly / monthly tool inspections
• Comply with M&RC’s standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols
• Proactive risk identification and mitigation, escalate and report timeously
• Effective self-management in alignment with M&RC's values
