INTERNAL / EXTERNAL VACANCY
IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
· Development, implementation, and monitoring of SHEQ related systems at an operational level, in line with Internal, Client and Regulatory Requirements.
· Monitoring and reporting on compliance obligations for internal, client and regulatory requirements.
· Monitoring systems implemented according to international practices such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
· Implement, monitor and comply with operational risk management practices specified by Master Drilling and compliance with client related risk management expectations.
· Identification and implementation of continual improvement initiatives.
· Advise operational role players and management on the aspect of SHEQ.
· Identify, report and investigate any non-conformances related to SHEQ.
· Adopt and facilitate the internal and client related leading indicator programmes.
· Conform to daily, weekly and monthly reporting expectations, internal or client.
· Implement standards, procedures and policies applicable to the company and/or specified by the client including legal requirements.
· Conduct internal and client SHEQ related audits.
· Coaching operational employees on SHEQ systems and related processes.
· Assurance on training and competency requirements specified by internal, external and regulatory sources.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
· Grade 12
· COMSOC 1 and 2
· Risk Assessment Certificate
· Integrated Management Systems Facilitation and Implementation
· Incident Investigation
· Blasting Ticket is advantageous.
· Diploma level qualification in any SHEQ discipline / Engineering
EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum 2 - 3 years’ experience as a Safety / SHEQ Officer
· KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· Communicate Effectively with the team.
· Willing to work continuous operation shifts and overtime as and when required.
· Must be medically fit and willing or able to work on extreme heights.
· Good problem-solving abilities.
