IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class platinum-palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to  develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the mine development.

MINE PLANNER OFFICER: X1 REF: IVP-MTS-2614

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

·       Grade 12

·       Advanced Mine Survey and Advanced Mine Valuation or Mineral Resources Management certificate.

·       Degree in Mining Engineering or Mine Survey or Mine Geology will be advantageous.

·       Strong planning and analytical skills

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

·       Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an underground mining environment with at least 2 years spent in a Mine Planning

·       Understanding of underground mining methods

·       Experience working with all Mine Technical Services disciplines.

·       Highly experienced in Monthly Planning processes.

·       Solid experience in mine scheduling, particularly in Deswik, and developing a mining budget.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

• Translate broadly stated company objectives into detailed plans and schedules
• Coordinate the mine design and scheduling process through liaising and consultation with production managers
• Align mining projects/infrastructure with operations
• Ensure monthly mine plans are prepared and signed-off with accurate information
• Provide accurate designs and plans to ensure the mine can meet current and future production requirements.
• Oversee operations to ensure adherence to short, medium and long-term plans
• Coordinate and review the design of sub-level open stopping blocks and extraction and backfilling sequences
• Coordinate and review the design of mine development and services to support extraction
• Ensure that technical and planning information is timeously made available to support mining production.
