IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to  develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.

LOAD HAUL DUMP OPERATOR (LHD) X 2 REF: IVP-ENG-2602

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

·       Matric/ NQF Level 4

·       LHD operators training certificate/ license.

·       Valid EB Driver’s License

·       Ability to communicate effectively (verbal)

·       Ability to give excellent customer service and handle pressure

·       Ability to operate machines safely and competently

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

·       2 years’ experience as an operator.

·       Knowledge of the functions of the LHD Scoop.

·       Ensure all inspections are done.

·       Achieve production targets through safe and effective operation of the LHD.

·       Ensure that safe and proper running of all machinery and equipment is conducted.

·       Conduct basic maintenance activities on equipment

·       Transports these materials within the mine.

·       Dumps the materials at designated locations.

·       Ensures efficient and safe material handling.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

·       Complying with international standards, Mine polies and procedures, as well as safety protocols

·       Minimisation of machine damage by adopting good operating practices.

·       Enhance safety by ensuring operator presence and preventing accidents.

·       Ensure that the machine is refuelled and cleaned at the end of every working shift.

·       Ensure compliance to MHSA Act
