Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

•      Grade 12

•      Electrical trade test, training on HV/MV Switching

•      Project /operational management skills.

•      Skilled in fault finding techniques.

•      Familiar with maintenance requirements on Electrical HV/MV/LV substations, Transformers, Motors, OHL, Generators etc.

•      Skilled in commissioning of MV switchgear, generators, motors, OHL etc.

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

•      At least 10 years’ experience in a leadership role in HV/MV and LV electrical projects, operations and maintenance in a mining environment.

•      Knowledge and experience in HV/MV switching procedures.

•      Familiar with fault finding techniques and commissioning procedures.

•      Fluency in English

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

•      Manages the utilisation of financial resources, optimises engineering reliability and life cycle management of equipment.

•      Thorough understanding of hazard identification and risk assessment principles

•      Compile and develop a risk log with appropriate mitigation solutions that align with short, medium and long-term organisational objectives.

•      Management and co-ordination of team and resources to execute maintenance and operational plans

•      Stakeholder management

•      Ensure equipment maintenance strategies are operationalised into effective work packages and tactics

•      Ensure all work is planned, scheduled, executed and monitored and all legal appointment/ statutory requirements are executed

•      Enforce safety procedures and policies

•      Perform site acceptance testing and factory acceptance testing of all Electrical installations and complete required documentation and implement a system to control this information

•      Provides technical support to Projects and Operations to ensure all objectives are meet.
