INTERNAL / EXTERNAL VACANCY

 

IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to  develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.

 

FOREMAN ENGINEERING – MECHANICAL X 1 (SHAFT SINKING) SHAFT 3 (REF: MR-001724)


Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

 

  Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent

·       Section 26D or Section 13 Artisan Trade Certificate/MIETTB (Mining Industry Engineering Trades Training Board) Trade Certificate through a registered body

·       Engineering Foreman Certificate of competence or proof of formal Supervisory training in planning, leading, organising, and control

·       Valid Medical certificate of Fitness

·       MS Office Proficient (Word & Excel)

·       Valid EB Driver’s license

·       Good English communication skills [Written and verbal]

 

 

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

 

·       At least 5 years of experience as an artisan fitter in a mining environment, appointed in a legal position.

·       5 years or more mining industry experience (underground and surface)

·       At least 5 years’ experience working with electro-hydraulic equipment and gearbox components, (Testing, Diagnosing, Fault finding and Repairs on mechanical and Hydraulic equipment)

·       At least 5 years’ experience at a supervisory level as an Engineering Foreman

·       At least 5 years practical experience on a winder [preferred]

·       Experience in monthly and quarterly budgets.

·       Experience in development of planned maintenance schedules.

·       Proven experience with reference in the following

·       Proven experience in Calculating pump displacement or cylinder forces

·       Proven experience in Calculating gearbox ratios input and output torques.

 

     The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

 

·       Effective daily planning, organizing and control within area of responsibility to achieve daily production, quality and safety targets.

·       Cost containment through efficient maintenance scheduling / planning and high mean time to failure after repairs

·       Effective stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows and target achievement

·       Efficient achievement of production and quality targets in line with DMR and project scope

·       Team and self-understand and comply with M&RC`s policy and procedures, standard and safety protocol

·       Proactive risk identification and mitigation in alignment with legal regulations, the client's and M&RC's standards, procedures and policies

·       Effective self and team management in alignment with M&RC's values and leadership initiatives
