IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanized state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.

FITTER X 1 (REF: IVP-PL-2401)

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

·       NQF 4 Relevant Trade Certificate

·       GCC Mines and Works.

·       First Aid Certificate is advantageous.

·       Fire Fighting course is advantageous.

·      Valid South African Driving License.

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience.

·       Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the mining environment as a GCC Mining Engineer.

·       Solid experience in Solid welding and mechanical experience

·       The ability to interpret mechanical drawings.

·       Undertake cleaning, lubrication, and preservation of machinery, vehicles, equipment, tools, workshop, tool room, and yard area.

·       Maintenance of mechanical equipment.

·       Maintenance of water treatment plant.

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·       Incident reporting.

·       Good communication skills

·       Good time management, and planning skills.

·       The ability to effectively communicate with management, subcontractors, and customers.

·       Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.

     The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

·       Support the Plant Engineer/foreman or other management roles in the construction, care & maintenance, operation readiness for the engineering department, commissioning, and operation of the Platreef Concentrator.

·       Health & Safety orientated.

·       Comfortable working independently, under supervision, and in team settings.

·       Able and willing to take instruction.

·       Continuous improvement mindset.

·       Must be able to concentrate under noisy working conditions.

·       Working extra hours when required.

·       Must work efficiently and effectively in a multicultural setting.

·       Able to engage at all levels of the business.
