IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to  develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

·       Ensuring that projects are scoped, started and executed in compliance with the Organisation’s requirements.

·       Failure analysis and fault finding

·       Specification generation, procurement and sourcing support

·       Monitoring of machine operational performance & CBM

·       Systems and process improvement initiatives

·       Continuous improvement drives

·       Design aspects

·       Asset lifecycle improvements

·       R&D

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Minimum: B.Eng/B.Tech Degree Mechanical Engineering

·       Project management qualification will be advantageous.

·       Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001

·       OHSA knowledge

·       Problem solving and analytical skill.

·       Interpersonal and negotiations skills

·       Manufacturing, gearing, pumping systems, hydraulics, assembly, quality control, metallurgy.

EXPERIENCE:

·       Minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience

·       KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

·       Communicate Effectively with the team.

·       Willing to work continuous operation shifts and overtime as and when required.

·       Must be medically fit and willing or able to work on extreme heights.

·       Good problem-solving abilities.
