INTERNAL / EXTERNAL VACANCY

IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to  develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.

                       3 x Core Markers/Scribes – Ref: VIP/RDK-2501

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

·       Implementing and maintaining quality standards to the site-specific rig or station allocated to.

·       This entails any form of drilling where a sample, a hole, installation of casing, the delivering of samples is performed. 

·       The overall quality of site establishment and de establishment. Performing scribing functions, record

·       keeping, operating technological devices i.e., Orientation tools, drilling fluid technology etc. on a day-to-day basis.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Secondary Qualification of Minimum Grade 12

·       Medically Fit.

EXPERIENCE:

·        At least 2-5 years’ experience as a core marker/scribe, with underground working experience.

·       Good communication skills, Leadership ability and technical knowledge.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

·       Communicate Effectively with the team.

·       Willing to work continuous operation shifts and overtime as and when required.

·       Must be medically fit and willing or able to work on extreme heights.

·       Good problem-solving abilities.
