IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to  develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.

CORE HANDLERS X 3 REF: IVP-MTS-2611

   Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

·       Grade 12 (NQF Level).

·       Basic Core Sampling certificate.

·       Drivers Licence

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

·       Basic Microsoft

·       Basics Maths and measuring skills

·       Physically fit to lift core trays and rock samples

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

·       3-5 years’ experience in core yard or exploration environment.

·       Basic understanding of core handling and sampling procedures.

·       Core cutting experience

·       Portable XRF analysis experience

·       Density measurement using Archimedes Method

     The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

·       Assist with transporting, marking and organizing drill core in the core yard.

·       Monitor and report any core loss, damage or inconsistencies.

·       Assist with core photography, RQD and Recovery measurements.

·       Sampling preparation and core cutting in line with QAQC protocols.

·       Ensure proper sampling identification, bagging and dispatch to laboratories.

·       Support inventory control of core yard materials and equipment.

·       Adhere to all health, safety and environmental regulations of the company
